36 weeks 3 days (25 days to go)

36 week survey

How far along: 36 weeks 3 days

Weight Gain: 33 lbs as of last Wednesday

Baby's Weight: probably about 5 1/2 - 6 lbs. I don't know this because I don't get ultrasounds any more and that is how you can tell!

Maternity Clothes: Duh! A lot of my shirts are too small now too!

Stretch marks: They are really standing out to me this week. I still don't have any on my stomach but there are a lot on my hips and boobs! (Oh the price you have to pay to have a larger chest!)

Sleep: HA! That is a joke! I don't sleep. I take cat naps. Last night I was awake from 1-5. It was no fun!

Best moment of the week: Hearing from the doctor that everything is good and if our little man decides to come, it would be fine! Plus making it this far means that even if he comes now, my maternity leave will still cover our vacation in June!

Signs of labor: The doctor said I am 1 1/2 cm dilated, 70% effaced. I must be having real contractions and just don't realize it. My stomach is always hard but I don't know the difference between braxton hicks and real contractions yet! I am sure I will know when it is time to start paying attention!

What I miss: Well today we went grocery shopping and that did me in. I came home and took a 2 hour nap! I miss the little things that I used to do. And a nice tall vodka and tonic would be delicious right about now!

Cravings: Nothing really this week

Belly Button: OUT! It pokes through my clothes and everything!

What I am looking forward to: Meeting our little guy! I would really like to make it to April 9th before he comes. There are a few things at work that are coming up in the next 2 weeks that I would like to be a part of. But right now, we are just taking it one day at a time.

Making Progress

I went to my 36 week appointment on Wednesdy. This was my first internal exam. I thought for sure the doctor would say that I haven't started making any progress...but I was WRONG!!! I am 1 1/2 cm. dilated and 60-70% effaced. His head is right there and in position!!! She also said that I probably wouldn't make it to my due date. WOW!!! I thought for sure I would be late because its my first baby...but it looks like I might be wrong! I am fine with early...I am just hoping to wait until after April 9th. There are alot of things coming up at work the next 2 weeks that I would really like to make it to! Plus all of Kevin's family is coming into town next weekend and I would like to see/meet them. But if our little guy decides to make his debut early...that is fine with me!

So right now, we are just taking it one day at a time. My bags are almost packed. We are going to put the carseat in the car tomorrow! Now we just sit and wait!

T - 30 days

That's right, we are down to the 30 day mark until our little guy gets here! If he wants to come a little early that would be fine by me. Not too early, but a week or so would be fine! I am still thinking that April 14th would be a nice day to have a baby!

We finished our child birth classes last night. We passed with flying colors and even got a certificate to prove it! Our coach also told me that Kevin is a great support and I am very lucky to have him by my side! (however I already knew that, she didn't have to tell me!)

On Thursday night we have a breastfeeding class to go to and then we will be already for "Jimmy." His room is ready, everything is washed and put away!

Tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment. It will be my first internal exam so hopefully we will hear if I am making any progress!

By the way: I am have joined a group called top mommy blogs. I have been reading a bunch of different girls' blogs and have been getting a lot of ideas from them. I would like mine to be on there so after the baby is here, I can get support from them. Please click on the brown icon on the right hand side of my blog and vote for my blog. The more votes I get, the more people will be aware that my blog is out there. I believe you can vote once a day! So help me out!

I will keep you posted about my doctor's appointment tomorrow!

35 weeks 2 days

35 week survey:

How far along: 35 weeks 2 days

Weight gain: probably about 32 lbs...thats a lot! No wonder I am miserable and waddle!

Baby's weight: probably a little over 5 lbs!

Maternity clothes: of course!

Stretch marks: I have a lot on my boobs and a few around my hips...but they aren't too bad! (I guess)

Sleep: what's that? The only good sleep I get is during my afternoon nap everyday!

Best Moment of the week: We now have a pediatrician and we only have 1 more child birth class to go! Reality is finally setting in that we are going to be parents in just a few weeks. I can't believe that April is only 10 days away!? Oh and...a parent at school brought in 3 boxes of baby things this week for me. Two boxes were clothes and one box was a whole box of Advent bottles! There must have been over $200 in bottles and nipples in there. This is also the parent that gave me the breast pump that she never used! I am amazed at how generous people are! We will be taking some of our bottles back to get even more credit at BabiesRUs!

Signs of labor: braxton hicks contracts. When I go to the doctor on Wednesday I will get a much better idea how things are going and if I am beginning to dilate or eface!

What I miss: I know I have said this a lot, but I want some energy back to do some things!

Cravings: icecream...especially bryers!

Belly button: Oh its out! Way out!

What I am looking forward to: my 36 week appointment on Wednesday, our last child birth class on Monday and my breastfeeding class on Thursday! Its going to be a busy week

I think I am definately looking pregant and ready to go! There is a huge difference since the last picture...what do you think?

Quick Post

Just a quick update...tomorrow I will be 35 weeks and I will post more then. This week I have been extremely tired. I come home at 1 and sleep for about 2 hours. I almost think that I am more tired now than I was in the first trimester....I didn't think that was possible. As I sit here and type, an elbow or knee keeps poking out of my side. The baby is definately very active. He is constantly moving and his favorite thing to do is kick me in the ribs!

On Monday night we had our 3rd child birth class and after the class was over we went and toured the hospital. I think we are really going to like it while we are there. We found out that there are actually 3 kinds of rooms that I will be in during the whole process. We also found out that our family can not be in the room with us until after the baby is actually about 90 minutes old. We also found out that they have banded the rule about children not being allowed in the hospital..so that means Katelyn can come visit her cousin when he is born!!!!

We pretty much are ready for his arrival. We put the swing and pack and play together this weekend....or I guess I should say that Kevin put them together and I watched. His room is ready including the letters of his name that will hang above his crib. I think the only thing we have left to do is pack our bag for the hospital. I am slowing collecting things but I don't actually have them packed. I have the baby's bag packed...now we just need ours!

So I have 36 days till my due date. I am ready! Check back tomorrow for my actual 35 week post! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Shower in Piqua and 34 week doctor's appointment

This past weekend was my shower in Piqua with Kevin's family. Kim and Linda did a great job putting it all together. It was great to be with everyone. We got so many great things. We can't wait to use everything. Here are so pictures from the event!

Today I went to the doctor for my 34 week appointment. Everything looked good. I measured at 34 cm (right on target) the baby's heartbeat was in the 130's (which is perfect) and he is still head down (which is what we want). She said she doesn't anticipate him moving from that position. So even though he is bruising my ribs from kicking so much, I am happy he is in the correct position! She thought that everything looked great and told me she would see me in 2 weeks! At that time she will begin checking my cervix! (Wow I can't believe we are at that point already!!)
