Sleep Over

Last night we had the opportunity to watch our niece Katelyn. We had so much fun having her here. She did a great job with Jack and we were even able to get a few cute pictures of them together. This is the first time we were able to get them to get a picture together!

Jack's 2 month stats

Jack went to the doctor's yesterday. He smiled through the whole thing until he got his shots. Then he screamed for about 2 minutes and then it was back to smiles! The doctor thought he looked great. He now weighs 12 lbs 4.5 oz and is 24 inches long. That puts him in the 75 percentile for weight and 90 percentile for height. He is good to go until he is 4 months old! Below are pictures from when we went to our childbirth class reunion a few weeks ago. I keep forgetting to post them. We had a great time and Jack was one of the best behaved babies there! He slept through most of the party! The babies in the pictures were all born within 18 days of each other. Jack is the third oldest and of course he had the most hair!!

2 months old

Jack turned 2 months old last Friday while we were at the lake. He loved being with his aunt and grandparents. (They didn't spoil him at all..haha) We had nice weather which allowed us to be outside...in the shade of course. Jack took several naps in his swing outside. He also enjoyed laying in the hammock with us. One day we took him down to the beach and allowed him to put his toes in the sand. He seemed to really like that! I can't wait till next year when he can actually go in the water!

He goes to the doctor tomorrow. I can't wait to see how much he weighs. The only bad thing is...he will have to get a few shots...I am sure he won't like that! I will update about that tomorrow.

Here are some of his stats as of now:

- He drinks 4 1/2 ounces ever 4 hours

- He eats his last bottle around 9 and then goes to bed. However he still gets up once in the middle of the night. We are trying to stop that habit before I go back to work in 2 weeks.

- He smiles...a lot! He especially likes the lights and the fans on the ceiling and gives them plenty of smiles!

- He loves to lay on his back on his floor mat and kick his feet

- He is starting to pick his head up while laying on his stomach

- He is in size 1 diapers

- He is in carter's 3 month clothes and 0-3 month outfits in other brands

- He has found his hands and enjoys having at least one of them, if not both, in his mouth at all times. (Luckily he hasn't figured out how to put just his thumb in his mouth!)

Lake Erie

We just got back from the lake after a great vacation. Jack is just waking up from his nap, so I don't have much time to post, but I wanted to share a few pictures. He celebrated his 2 month birthday while we were there as well. I promise to go into more detail later, but here are a few pictures of our sweet little boy!

Gram and Jack
It was a great weekend! However, while we were there Jack started getting a rash on his face. We thought it was just acne...which is very normal in babies. Well when we got back to Columbus, it started spreading and by this morning, it was all over his face, neck and chest. So, I called the doctor this morning and they wanted to see him. Turns out, she thinks he has a yeast infection under his neck and it is spreading. She also said that when there is a problem in one area, it can tend to cause other areas to be agitated. So she gave us a script for some lotion to put on his neck. However, when I went to get it filled, no where in Columbus has it and it needs to be ordered. So we are putting lotrimin on it for the weekend and then we will have to wait till Monday to put the prescription cream on. We are to try this through Tuesday and if it doesn't seem to be getting better we are to call and go back in to the doctors. So we will see what happens. In other news, Jack got weighed while he was there and he gained another pound. He now weighs, 11 lbs, 2 oz. He is getting to be so big...and HEAVY!!!
Tonight we are going to a class reunion for our child birth class. I am excited to see all the babies and to talk to all their mommies. Jack is the third oldest in the class of eight. There were 7 boys and only 1 girl! (What are the odds of that!) I will post pictures from that tomorrow. Have a good weekend. We are hoping to have a relaxing one. Next weekend we are heading to my parent's lake house for the week.

Jack's first trip to Boardman

Well so far we have had a successful trip to Boardman. We left Saturday morning and Jack slept the whole way here. At one point Kevin and I got hungry and wanted to stop but we thought that might wake Jack up so we continued on and ate once we got here. It's amazing how your baby's sleep is way more important then your own full stomach!

Jack has been a great sleeper since we got here. He has done his normal nightly routine which has been great! Sunday he was up for most of the day and a little fussy but yesterday he slept for most of the day! He has had many visitors and has slept through most of them. (Pictures will follow!) It has been great to see friends and family. We went to church on Sunday to show him off there. He went to the nursery with his aunt Kassie and slept the whole time. We had a picnic with family on Sunday and lots of friends came over on Monday to see us. Jack's friend Matthew came over with his mom Krista. (Matthew is 9 weeks older then him.) Matthew really wanted to show Jack his hands however, Jack was sound asleep the whole time! Hopefully the next time we are here, they can actually have a "play date."

Kevin went back home last night. We miss him but we are getting lots of help from grandma, grandpa and aunt Kassie. Jack and I are staying till tomorrow and then my mom will drive back to Columbus with us. She is staying till Thursday so I can go to a doctor's appointment Thursday morning. It's been great to be with family! We sure will miss them when we leave!
