32 week update

I don't normally put a picture of my actual stomach but Kevin thought I should because as he said, "wow, you are really big!" Got to love his honesty!!!

How far along: 32 weeks 2 days
Weight gain: 24 lbs. Where is all this weight going. I know I am pregnant but I don't think I look like I have gained that much weight. Which I am definitely not complaining about!
Baby's weight: about 4 lbs. I am guessing. My measurement was exactly 32 cm. when I went on Wednesday!
Maternity clothes: of course
Stretch marks: I keep finding more and more. I am not very happy about it!
Sleep: about the same. I sleep really well for about 3-4 hours and then I am up tossing and turning the rest of the night. It doesn't help that I have a cold this week and I can't breathe.
Best Moment of the week: My surprise shower at work.
Signs of labor: Still just lots of braxton hicks contractions. Hopefully those will slow down now that I am working part time!
What I miss: I am going to go back to having energy. I have a lot that I want to get done, but every little thing makes me so tired!
Cravings: Shamrock shakes from McDonalds.
Belly Button: Out!
What I am looking forward to: Going to get the rocking chair today and my shower next weekend!

a little update

I went to the doctor on Wednesday. Everything was good with the baby. He measures right on schedule. However, the doctor has cut down my hours at work to 4-5 hours a day. After talking to her about all the braxton hicks contractions I am having, she thought it would be for the best for the next couple of weeks. She said that if I could get to 36 weeks, then I could go back to work full time and she would be ok with the baby coming then. So today started my first half day. It was great to leave at noon and come home and rest! It was also a nice day because my staff had a surprise baby shower planned for me. They all went together and got us a bunch of things off of our registry. What a great way to end the week!

Tomorrow Kevin's parents are coming so we can go pick up the rocking chair at Babies r us. Cross your fingers that it will fit in the room! Once it is in the room, then the nursery will be about complete! This weekend I plan to finish washing all the baby's things and putting them away.

Next weekend is my shower at Kevin's mom's house! I am looking forward to that! My mom and sister will be coming down for that as well!

I will post my 32 week picture and update tomorrow morning. Have a good weekend everyone!

Shopping

Yesterday, Kevin and I made the trip to the Jeffersonville outlet mall. We went there for one purpose...to buy baby clothes! And boy did we buy clothes. We had a 25% off coupon for Carters, plus practically everything in the store was on sale. So we bought. I just started grabbing things, onesies, feet pajamas, overalls, shorts, pants, etc. etc. We got up to the register and I was afraid of how much everything was going to be...but we actually did really well and stayed in our budget. We got some really cute 3-6 month clothes that he will be wearing this summer. We also stocked up on some pants and long sleeve shirts that were on clearance for next winter. Some of the shirts were $1.99...you can't pass that up! After that we went to Oshgosh and found the same great deals. We didn't go as crazy in there except we found a winter coat that was $11.25 originally $55. You can't beat that!! Even if it doesn't fit next year...I won't be mad! So after that I was exhausted and we headed home! It was the first time I have been to those outlets and I didn't buy anything for me! My how things have changed. When we got back to Columbus we went to Babiesrus and looked at Breast Pumps. I am completely clueless about these things. I know I am going to need one if I am able to breast feed however, they range from $55 to $379. How do I know which one to get? And what if I am not able to breastfeed then we will be out the money. I also know we can rent one from the hospital but it would be cheaper in the long run to just buy it. So I guess I better start researching because April is going to be here before we know it!

31 weeks

Today I am exactly 31 weeks! I can't believe there is only 9 weeks to go. Time is flying. Its been an interesting day. It started like any other day (except everything was covered in a sheet of ice and I had to ice skate to work...hehe) until I started having braxton hicks contractions. First it was about 5 the first hour. Then they took a break for an hour and then came back the following hour....only this time there were 7 in an hour. I remembered that the doctor said that when I had more than 4 in an hour, I needed to go home, put my feet up and drink lots of water. So that is what I did. I left work about 12:30. I called the doctor and after waiting for almost 2 hours for the nurse to call back she said, that I did everything right. She asked if I had any more and at that time I had about 4 in the 2 hours. She told me to stay on the couch for the rest of the night and if they came back to call. So on the couch I have been. I have had some more tonight but nothing too much. So it looks like I just need to take it easy...which isn't hard. I get so tired so easily now a days, I don't get a lot done when I come home from work.

So now on to the survey:

how far along: 31 weeks

weight gain: 20 lbs. No wonder I am tired...I am carrying all that extra weight!

baby's weight: probably about 3 - 3 1/2 lbs.

Maternity clothes: yep!

Stretch marks: unfortunately I have found a couple more. they are so unattractive!!

Sleep: Not much. I find that the best sleep I get is on the couch. So I start off there every night and then move up to the bed around midnight!

Best Moment of the week: getting my valentine's gift from Kevin...a onesie with my picture on it that said "I love my mommy." It was so cute!

What I miss: having energy...every little thing wears me out!

Cravings: Still on the grape juice kick and I just heard that McDonald's has shamrock shakes and that sounds really good to me!

Belly Button: Its pretty much an outie!

What I am looking forward to: Going to our first childbirth class on Monday. It was supposed to be last Monday but with the 10 inches of snow we got, it got canceled.

Is it ever going to stop snowing??

Well it is snowing again here. We are supposed to get another 7-9 inches tonight on top of the 12 inches we have already. I know everyone has a lot of snow but I am getting tired of it. Kevin finally had the steps and walk way all clear and now its completely covered again! And besides all that, my mom and sister had to leave early because of the snow. They came Friday to help with the nursery. We were busy all weekend getting things ready. We washed clothes and bedding, put the crib all together, started organizing things. We went to babies r us and bought some things with all the gift cards we have and got a small book shelf to put all of his books away! My mom and Kassie were supposed to stay until today because I didn't have to go to work today however, with all the snow that was predicted, they ended up leaving yesterday afternoon. Oh well, at least I got to have a few days with them!

In other news, congrats to my friend Krista and her husband Matt on their new addition. Little Matthew was born late last night! What a wonderful Valentine's gift. I only wish that I could see him sometime soon! I probably won't be able to see him until June after our little guy is here and we take a trip home!

Ultrasound Pics from 28 weeks

Here are some pics from when we went to get the ultra sound on January 28th. Since he is getting bigger they can only get pictures of one thing at a time. He was facing my back the whole time so we couldn't get his face at all, but we thought these pictures were really cool and clear!
