Shower!

My first shower was this weekend! My mom, sister and aunts did a great job! My friend Stef did an awesome job planning the games and making adorable picture frames for mine and Kevin's baby pictures as well as one for our baby. Krista made a really cute diaper cake! It was a wonderful addition to the party! It was great to see a lot of friends and family that I haven't seen in a while. We got a ton of stuff. So much that we had to leave some at my parents because we couldn't fit it all in the car to come home. Once we got home today, we spent time putting some stuff away. However, I am waiting to do a lot of it until my mom and sister come in 2 weeks. We are keeping the big stuff in boxes for the time being but will put it together soon! Here are a few pictures. Update and 28 week stats

We went to the Riverside Maternity wing on Thursday morning to have the ultrasound done. Good news: my cervix is still closed. The nurse said that they do not start worrying about it until it is less than 30 cent. and mine is 33. So at this point they think everything is ok. They did an ultrasound that lasted about 30 minutes. They looked at everything. It was so cool to see our baby boy again. He is head down, in position, ready to come out...i just have to keep him in for the next 10-12 weeks. He is facing my back with his spine in my stomach. All his measurements were right on schedule or early. His head is measuring over 30 weeks. The tech told us he would have a nice round head! So after we left the hospital I called my doctor to see if I could go back to work and she said that I could as long as if I have more than 4 BH in an hour, I would go home to rest. I am starting to think that maybe cutting back to 4-6 hours of work a day would be a good idea. So I go back to the doctor on Wednesday and we will see what she has to say then.

I am in Boardman this weekend for my shower. I will post more about that after today. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone. Last night we surprised my aunt Jodie by having my cousin Matt come home. She had no idea! Her face was priceless when she saw him.

Tonight we are celebrating Christmas with my dad's family. We were unable to get together over the holidays so we are all getting together tonight.

how far along: 28 weeks 2 days

weight gain: 18 lbs.

baby's weight: 2lbs. 9 oz.

maternity clothes: yep!

stretch marks: a few but they are not too bad

sleep: not much

best moment of the week: seeing our little man on the ultrasound

cravings: peanut butter and jelly sandwiches

what I miss: being able to put my socks and shoes on without getting out of breath!

belly button: it is popping out!

What I am looking forward to: my shower today!
milestone: making it till 28 weeks...after everything that went on this week, this is a blessing!

The good and not so good news

I went to the doctor today. First of all, the good news...the baby is doing fine. Heartbeat and measurements were right on, however, I don't know what they are because I began telling the doctor about how many braxton hicks contractions I have been having. Last night I had 10 BH in an hour and a half. Anything over 4 is not good. She told me I should have called then, however, we all know how I don't like the doctor, so I waited till today. Well she was obviously concerned and asked what i was doing at the time. I explained I was laying on the couch. I actually drank 8 glasses of water, so that wasn't the problem. So she decided to do an internal examine to see what was going on. (Now comes the not so good news) She said that my cervix is thinning. It is not dilated but she is concerned that it is thin. She also said that the baby's head is already in position. He is resting and my pelvis and she could feel it. So, basically she told me that I need to go get an internal cervical ultrasound tomorrow and we will go from there. She said they would be able to tell me right then if everything is ok. If it is, I go back to see her next Wednesday. If things are not ok, she will call me and discuss what needs to happen. I may have to go on a restricted schedule or bed rest. I am definitely not ready for that! So we go tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. and hopefully will know something pretty quickly after that! I will keep everyone posted! Please keep us in your thoughts tomorrow!

Lazy Sunday

We are having a very lazy Sunday. I was up for half the night last night, so I don't really feel like doing anything today! Plus, it is pouring out and who wants to do anything in the rain?

A few updates:

I go to the doctor Wednesday afternoon. From that appointment on, I will begin going every 2 weeks!! I feel like I have grown a lot since my last appointment. I am anxious to hear some stats about the baby.

I have some pictures to post, however, Kevin has unhooked our printer and I have to put the camera's memory card into the printer in order to upload the pictures. So unfortunately, you will have to wait for those.

Kevin has been busy hollowing out the space under the basement stairs and putting a door on it. I am happy to say it is done and looks great! It gives us some space to store things, so that is nice!

My first shower is this coming weekend! My mom, sis and aunts are throwing it for me. I am very excited for it! It will be nice to see everyone. We are also celebrating Christmas with my dad's family this weekend. We couldn't all get together at Christmas, so we are having it now instead.

I am beginning to get uncomfortable and don't have a lot of energy. After work, I don't have much left in me. Thank goodness for Kevin and all his help!

The crib is up!

Kevin put the crib up last night! It looks great! Now will I be able to wait till my mom and sis come in Feb. to decorate?? I think I have the will power...its Kevin who wants to start doing things....hehe. He also cut out an opening underneath our basement steps today so we will have more storage. He has been at it all day. He still has a little more to do, but so far so good.

I took the day off tomorrow even though the school is open. I am so glad I did cause I haven't felt very good today. We have a few things to do tomorrow but other than that I AM RELAXING!

I Love Saturday mornings

I love waking up on Saturdays and not having to get up for work. I still tend to wake up between 5 and 6 but I don't have to get out of bed. I usually just lay there for awhile and then the baby will wake up. I feel like it is my special time with him. Kevin is sound asleep and I am just laying there feeling the baby move and kick! What a great feeling! I think that is one thing I will miss when he is born. Have a great weekend everyone!

26 weeks

26 weeks stats:

How far along: 26 weeks

Weight gain: 15 lbs. How come when I wasn't gaining weight, I wanted to...now that I am...I'm not sure how much I like it!

Baby's weight: probably about 1 1/2 lbs.

Maternity clothes: of course

Stretch marks: I have one on my boob! I always wished they were bigger...I guess that's what you get for wishing! hehe

Sleep: its getting more uncomfortable

Best moment of the week: Kevin redid the closet in the baby's room. It looks great and has lots of room for all the tiny little clothes.

Cravings: nothing special...I am just hungry all the time!

What I miss: having energy!

Belly button: a small part of it is sticking out...the rest is even with my stomach!

What I am looking forward to: putting the crib together this weekend. My first shower is in 2 weeks!

Milestone: almost to the 3rd trimester!

Busy week

I haven't posted in awhile and thought I should add something. This past week has been super busy! Going back to work was tough after 10 days off. Yesterday we went to Piqua for Katelyn's birthday. I can't believe she is a year old already. Where did the time go? It was great to be with everyone. While we were there we got some early shower presents. The nursery is now complete thanks to Kevin's parents and Brad and Kim got us the boppy and a cute toy for our baby.

Kevin and I spent all day trying to figure out how to make the best use of the closet in the nursery. After 2 trips to Home Depot and returning everything we bought the first time and starting over...I think we have it figured out. Kevin is upstairs now painting the closet and I am down on the couch relaxing because I think I over did it today. Once the closet is finished, then we can start setting everything up!!!!

My life changed forever 2 years ago today . Kevin and I met on this day in 2007. We had been talking on the computer for a few weeks but had yet to meet. It was my birthday and I didn't have any plans. Kevin told me that I couldn't be alone on my birthday. So, he came over and we went shopping. . .he needed some things for his apartment and then we went to Max and Ermas. It was a great day and as the saying goes...the rest is history!

Today we went out to lunch with Kevin's parents. It was nice to be with them. We then did a little shopping and came back here and had cake. Doug and Kevin moved the bed out of the guest room so we can set up the crib!!! Now we are relaxing...watching the OHIO STATE game! Let's go Bucks!
